We have just released the updated versions of our Instant HR Policies and Procedures Manual, NDIS Agencies HR Manual and NDIS Self Managers HR Manual to take account changes that came into effect at the beginning of 2021.

Instant HR Policies and Procedures Manual – V9.8

  • Chapter 4 –  New Policy on Diversity & Inclusion

HR Policies – Updated Sections

  • Chapter 2 – Parental Leave – Amended the definition of what is parental leave to take into account changes as a result of the Fair Work Amendment (Improving Unpaid Parental Leave for Parents of Stillborn Babies and Other Measures) Act 2020 that gave access to 12 months of unpaid parental leave for parents impacted by stillbirth or infant death.
  • Chapter 2 – Parental Leave. New section “Where the is a Stillbirth or Infant Death.” 
  • Chapter 2 – Parental Leave. New section “Flexible Unpaid Parental Leave” to take into account changes as a result of the Fair Work Amendment (Improving Unpaid Parental Leave for Parents of Stillborn Babies and Other Measures) Act 2020 which added a new section in the Fair Work Act 72A.

  • Chapter 1 – Position Description  – Other Requirements Section updated to reflect the new NDIS Worker Screening requirements
  • Chapter 1 – Pre-Employment NDIS Worker Screening substantially rewritten to reflect NDIS screening requirements from 1 February 2021.

  • Chapter 1 – Pre-Employment Working With Children Check separated out from the NDIS Worker Screening Check to make it clearer it is a separate check.
  • Chapter 2 – Criminal History Assessments renamed Ongoing Worker Screening Checks and substantially updated to reflect new requirements. We have chosen to go with best practice to require all team members (including management and people who do not work in risk assessed roles) to hold a current check.

  • Chapter 1 – Position Description  – Other Requirements Section updated to reflect the new NDIS Worker Screening requirements
  • Chapter 1 – Pre-Employment NDIS Worker Screening substantially rewritten to reflect NDIS screening requirements from 1 February 2021. (Note: There are new rules for Self-Managed participants for Worker Screening from 1 February 2021. While you have the option not to require screening, we recommend all people who provide support and services to be screened to give you added peace of mind. We have written this policy based on that approach.
