How the Manual Was Developed & Who is It Aimed At
The NDIS Self-Managers: Staff Employment Manual has been developed in consultation with Local NDIS Local Area Coordinators as well as people with disabilities who will be direct employing support workers.
We have deliberately written this manual for self-managers who will be hiring less than 15 staff members. If you will be hiring more than 15 staff members, then we recommend our Instant HR Policies and Procedures Manual.
Your NDIS Self-Managers: Staff Employment Manual is written as a series of policy and procedure templates. These join to form an HR Manual for your support workers, explaining their rights, responsibilities and entitlements, as well as outlining the practicalities of how these will work for your support situation.

Wonderful feedback
"As an Independent Support Coordinator with Jeder Institute I work with many participants who choose to Self- Manage their NDIS Funding and who want to Directly Employ their own staff. Doing this gives them maximum amounts of choice and control but it does have legal requirements and responsibilities which need to be considered.
The NDIS Self Managers Direct Employment HR Manual and Employee Handbook provides an easy to read, customisable formal framework for Direct Employers.
It has been an honour and a pleasure working with the Australian Employee Manual creating such a fabulous and affordable product! This is an absolute must-have for all NDIS Participants who Directly Employ their own staff.”
